My musical journey began upon entering high school. I told my father that I wanted to be involved in something that would bring a lot of people and experience into my life. The next thing I knew, he handed me an electric bass and said, “Son, this is the KEY TO THE WORLD.” I didn’t really believe him at that point, but as my music career began a few years later at college, I would come to understand what he truly meant. In the few years of playing the instrument, I’ve met more people and have done more amazing things than I could’ve ever imagined.
My father trained me on the bass ever since I picked it up and my mother, a manager in the entertainment industry, taught me the etiquette required for this business. They are a great support system and have definitely helped me to be the musician I am today. I attended the Orange County High School of the Arts, which was also a great help and driving force in my musical history. After that, I started and am currently enrolled in the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as a music major. Living everyday surrounded by music and playing my instrument incessantly has opened my mind and life to what being a musician truly means.
I’ve lived and learned a lot these past few years and I can only hope that this musical journey continues for a long time. The Dr.Iven project has already given me so much and I know it will continue to be a great stage in my musical life. I enjoy every moment of the time I have put in thus far and I am looking forward to all the great times that I know are ahead.
