Bringing Down the House at St. Bernard High School

March 12, 2010 - Dr.Iven recently had the pleasure of performing for an amazingly energetic crowd at St. Bernard High School in Playa Del Rey. From the moment the crowd reached their seats and began dialoguing with us, we could tell it was going to be a great workshop. The students had such liveliness, it practically shook the gym. We fired back with invigorating talks and musicianship. The students continued to respond with vivacity and erupted when we played our new, high-energy song for them. Even the teachers got involved as Dr.Iven brought students and faculty together for some awesome vocal work at center stage. The signing table was swarmed with students from the high school and the local middle school. It was great to meet them all and we were honored to be able to bring a great workshop to all of them.

Dr.Iven “Re-Rocks” Pomona Catholic School

March 11, 2010 - Dr.Iven returns home to a welcoming crowd at Pomona Catholic High School. The crowd was ready to rock before the show even started and it was great to see so many familiar faces. Our return visit to PC allowed us to strengthen some old memories and, of course, create new ones with the enthusiastic students, faculty and staff. The Dr.Iven famous “slow conga line” was in full effect with a combo of students, teachers and administrators. They knew how to groove and they knew how to sing as they helped us belt out some familiar radio tunes. The signing table was swamped with amazing fans and friends! We are looking forward to a three-peat at Pomona Catholic and we are so very grateful for all the support we’ve received from this classy school.

A Note from Gino Di Leva to Mary Star of the Sea High School

February 9, 2010 - It was oh so good to be back at my ol' (new) high school and in my hometown of San Pedro. I was excited to bring the students, faculty and staff a great M3 Workshop. Needless to say, the school rocked n' rolled as we (Dr.Iven) dug deep to provide them with great, uplifting music and strong messages through our motivational speeches. Well-mannered, enthusiastic, helpful and RAD are just a few adjectives that accurately describe the people who make up this awesome school! We can't wait to bring back another workshop in the years forthcoming and extend our deepest gratitude to all at Mary Star of the Sea High School for welcoming us with open arms. We're all STARS! (Right, Dom? Lol!)

Reprise at Marymount High School

February 5, 2010 - Dr.Iven was enthused about their return to Marymount! Despite the rainy conditions outside, the sun was radiating inside the gym walls from the energy of these spirited young women. Domenico Pilato gave outstanding talks on various aspects of social justice and the students listened intently to his powerful messages and laughed at his corny jokes...as did the band. In between the talks, Dr.Iven kept the ball rollin' with their inspiring music accompanied by thought-provoking lyrics. Dr.Iven officially loves Marymount High School and hopes to be able to work with them again soon.

In The House of American Martyrs

January 31, 2010 - Dr.Iven got to pay a visit to the youth group at American Martyrs parish in Manhattan Beach, CA. This was a fantastic place made up of a giving and grateful people! We were happy to be there to “talk and rock” with the youth group about many pertinent issues. Several excited and energetic teens led the other young men and women in some dancing and singing. Even some of the youth leaders and administrators got into the act! Woohoo!! Thank you American Martyrs…we hope to see you again soon!

Our First Team Doctor Event - Live music! Dancing! Games! Prizes! Good times!

January 15, 2010 - The students, faculty and staff of San Gabriel Mission High School and Sacred Heart High School helped make our first Team Doctor event a successful one. These two Catholic schools joined together under one roof for a special night of fun with Dr.Iven! Their participation in the “dance-off,” the famous D.I. conga line and the oh-so-difficult limbo made for some great laughs and showed off some serious skills! A big thank you to all of you! We appreciate you taking time out of your night to hang with us, meet new friends and, of course, have FUN!

Dr.Iven jams with celebrity, Jim Belushi, at St. Matthias High School!

December 3, 2009 - The ear-splitting screams from the students of St. Matthias High School sent the volume needle into the red at this unique M3 Workshop! They knew when to cheer and when to listen and the level of dynamic change was intense and amazing! On top of all of this coolness, Jim Belushi (who happened to be filming a movie on campus) made a surprise appearance during the musical portion of the workshop. The audience went crazy when Mr. Belushi graced the stage to play some blues with Dr.Iven! The energy in the room blew the roof off the gym (no, not literally, but almost)! The students enjoyed the M3 Workshop so much that they made special Dr.Iven signs and the meet n’ greet table was overflowing. We were honored to meet them all and had a great time at St. Matthias. It was truly an unforgettable workshop.

Dr.Iven’s “Venerable” Performance!

November 22, 2009 - The St. Bede Youth Group spent a Sunday afternoon with Dr.Iven when we visited their parish in La Canada Flintridge, California. The workshop went extremely well because of the amazing energy in the assembly. Props to the youth group coordinator whose contagious vivacity spread through the crowd before the workshop even started! Following the M3 Workshop, we headed over to Mass to meet St. Bede’s congregation and listen to their ever-so-talented church band. After Mass the Associate Pastor cooked dinner for the band and youth team leaders. Good food! Good company! Good times! Who could ask for more?

Dr.Iven shall dub thee “CAN”WELL!

November 19, 2009 - Dr.Iven had the pleasure of presenting their M3 Workshop to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary College Preparatory School in Montebello, California. From the set up to the tear down and through all the action in between, we had a tremendous time working with this unique school. It was one of the warmest receptions we’ve had and we attribute this to the positive vibes handed down to the students by their amazing administration, faculty and staff. Dr.Iven performed two workshops for Cantwell. The first workshop was for the students who totally got into our music and messages and didn’t hesitate to show it! The second workshop was for the parents of the students who did the same…OK, well, maybe they didn’t jump around and dance, but we did get them to clap and sing. Yeah! In any case, both audiences were appreciative of the messages that Dr.Iven shared with them. We can’t wait for a return visit!!

A COLD STATE WITH A HOT VIBE!

November 13 & 14, 2009 - We had the distinct pleasure of musically motivating two outstanding schools in the great state of Oregon: Blanchet Catholic School and Marist High School. A BIG thank you to the students, faculty and staff of both schools for making our M3 Workshops blazing hot! With a nice combo of positive energy and enthusiastic interaction, we all tore right through the cold, which Oregon is known for. And, yes, the clouds up there are “different” and “awesome” for those students who asked. LOL! All in all, Oregon knows how to rock and the Doctor will be back to visit soon!

Dr.Iven Rocks with Carmel…no, not the candy!

October 26, 2009 - Dr.Iven returned to the Midwest and experienced an amazing M3 Workshop at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois. 1,400 students make it one of the largest schools in which we have performed and, needless to say, a great time was had by all! The students rocked out by singing along, clapping, dancing, and, of course, creating the ever-so-popular wave. The teachers and students came together for some memorable moments as they sang together, front and center, to one of our popular cover songs. The audience appreciated both the music and motivational speaking as they absorbed all the personal stories and experiences that we shared. After the day’s events, we took a short train ride into Chicago to get a taste of the local nightlife. We ventured to the flagship restaurant: Gino’s Pizza East, for some amazing Chicago style deep dish pizza and took in the sights of the town. Dr.Iven will definitely be back for more of the coolness that accompanies those Midwestern schools…and for the pizza!

The Faith Is Strong At St. Euphrasia

October 11, 2009 - We're finally back in L.A. from our Midwest tour. We were welcomed back to town by the St. Euphrasia Youth Group in Granada Hills. They were as enthralled with our talks on respect and Catholicism as they were with the music. Although their grade levels ranged from elementary to high school, this tight knit group came together as one to rock out with Dr.Iven. They even started a conga line!

Why We Do What We Do And Love It!

October 2, 2009 - Dr.Iven had the distinct pleasure of conducting a workshop with some remarkable students in St. Louis. The girls at St. Elizabeth Academy touched our hearts and left a lasting impression. From the students to the faculty, staff and admin., these amazing people truly appreciated the workshop on building self-esteem and academic focus. The music that day just seemed to be elevated in accompaniment with the crowds incessant clapping, singing, and dancing to our original and cover songs. The autograph table blew up with appreciative fans and the signing when on through the lunch hour! We even learned a few new things when we were asked to stop in a class or two. We also managed to improvise some "special" harmonies for a Happy Birthday sing along to one of the faculty members. It was truly a most heartfelt workshop!

Feels Like Home…

September 30, 2009 - The M3 Workshop at St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati was one for the memory books. This school is one of the largest audiences that Dr.Iven has had the pleasure of working with and they responded with mass amounts of excitement. The faculty and staff made our time there very memorable by taking us to some of their favorite local spots for food and good company. The students enjoyed the workshop, which ranged from a guided mediation to talks on negative media influences and building self esteem. Our musical performances blew the roof of the lovely gym thanks to the enthusiasm of the SUA crowd. These girls were groovin' - from the seniors in the front to the freshmen way up top!

Did Somebody Say Mercy Cookies!?!?!?!?

September 29, 2009 - It was an AMAZING first day of the Dr.Iven Midwest tour. We had a warm welcome from all those at Mother of Mercy High School, which included their world-famous Mercy cookies. The day continued with an awesome M3 Workshop on social networking and peer pressures. The students did an great job in grasping both the workshop topics and lyrical messages. When the music kicked in, they danced and sang along in the stands and with the band. You girls rock...as do the cookies! No wonder they're so good - M.O.M. makes them ;)

The Dr. On Tour
September 25, 2009 - Our first tour to the Midwest will start on Monday the 28th of September. We are FIRED UP to say the least! We'll be rockin' in Cincinnati, OH, St. Louis, MO and Jefferson City, MO. How cool is that?! We're looking forward to tellin' you more about it upon our return. Stay tuned!

September 18, 2009 - Our 2009 fall school workshops are off to a great start! We recently wrapped up a few highly energetic shows at the St. Margaret Mary Fiesta, St. Paul High School and Bishop Mora Salesian High School. The support we received from ALL of our audiences is beyond words. They are simply amazing!!
